Santa Rosa County utilizes all measures possible to provide warnings
to its citizens.
Reverse 911 is a high speed telephone notification
system used to call homes and businesses to alert them during a
variety of emergencies. Using a mapping system, Reverse 911 can
call a section of the county that may be affected by an incident
occurring in their area. A recorded message provides the listener
with information about the emergency and recommended steps to protect
their family from harm. The system will attempt to call two times
and recognizes answering machines and will leave a message. To validate
the message, the emergency management office will always provide
a call-back phone number for any questions or concerns.
Emergency Alert System (EAS), or the alarm utilized
by radio and TV stations, is a conduit for passing on life-saving
weather information and emergency messages. For a list of stations

Media Releases Santa Rosa County, through the
public information officer, provides all information regarding safety
of life and property to all media outlets that covers news in Santa
Rosa County.
Breaking News and Citizen Advisory Alerts
Emergency information can be viewed on the Santa Rosa County
web page at www.santarosa.fl.gov and interested persons can sign
up to have breaking news emailed to them when the information is
updated with emergency or other information that may affect daily
life in Santa Rosa County.
Mediacom provides Santa Rosa County the opportunity
to interrupt regular cable broadcasts and provide emergency messages
on channel 27.
Weather Channel Crawler The Weather channel has
agreed to display Santa Rosa County emergency weather related information
on their text crawl, which is displayed at the bottom of the television
screen.
Taminco/Air Products Sirens Sirens are placed
strategically throughout the Pace area to provide emergency alerts
from the Taminco/Air Product Plant. These sirens may be used for
hazardous material release or weather related incidents. Sirens
are tested on the first Sunday of each month at 2:15 PM CST.
NOAA Weather Radio Emergency Management highly
recommends the purchase of a NOAA Weather Radio. This radio will
provide quick alerts for emergency situations such as tornadoes,
severe thunderstorms and other weather related incidents that could
produce quickly. This is a low cost item that could save your life!
